May 10, 2018. Quicken Starter for Mac Quicken Deluxe for Mac Quicken Premier for Mac Quicken Mobile App; Quicken Solutions; Manage Spending. Of these three, Banktivity is the one with the most features. Also, like Quicken for Windows, Banktivity offers mobile synchronization with your iPad, iPhone, and even your Apple Watch. This Mac-first app looks and feels natural for Mac computers rather than just putting a Windows program in a Mac wrapper.
Personally, I hate how command-A in Quicken is 'Show Accounts' instead of 'Select All.' While there is no menu item for 'Select All,' you can assign your own key commands to Quicken menu items (or change and delete the existing ones) by holding the Command key and selecting the menu item. This hint is documented by Intuit for Q2003, but I have used it in Q2004 as well.
It's documented but not as widely known as it should be! [ robg adds: I had no idea this was possible; it also works fine in Quicken 2002. Yes, it's been a while since I upgraded my copy of Quicken!]. In Quicken 2003 Intuit changed the keyboard shortcut for 'Print Checks' from Command+P to Shift+Command+P. ( Command+P now prints the Register.) To me this was a dumb change since I print checks much, much more often than I print a register.
Out of habit I now call up the 'Print Register' window when trying to print checks! This hint will not work to change the 'Print Checks' shortcut back to Command+P, but it will allow you to change the command for printing the register to Command+R, so at least it has stopped me from calling up the 'Print Register' command through habit. Apparently the Quicken application is set to use Shift+Command+P to print checks, and the Shift+Command portion cannot be changed.
Apple today updated TestFlight with support for WatchKit apps on Apple Watch and minor stability and performance improvements. Starting today, developers will no longer have to exclude their WatchKit extensions for Apple Watch when seeding a beta iOS app to testers through TestFlight.TestFlight is a beta testing service that enables developers to seed pre-release versions of their apps to select individuals for testing. The expanded support for WatchKit is a timely update, arriving just moments after the official App Store for Apple Watch apps went live. ITunes Connect may still not accept apps with WatchKit extensions for some until the changes roll out to all. Apple has invited third-party developers to its headquarters in Cupertino, California to allow them to test and finalize apps for the Apple Watch, according to 9to5Mac. The report claims that developers have been arriving at One Infinite Loop this month to work with Apple engineers on finishing WatchKit-based apps in categories such as sports, productivity and finance.'
The developers invited by Apple to Cupertino range from those behind titles for sports applications and productivity software. Apple has also been meeting with banks to work on WatchKit applications that assist with the Apple Watch’s Apple Pay functionality. Besides U.S.-based banks, Apple has been working on WatchKit apps with developers from Germany-based banks, which indicates Apple is likely in talks with more foreign banks to expand Apple Pay to more countries across the world.' MacRumors reported a few weeks ago that some developers have been asked to have Apple Watch apps readied by this month, although this report claims that Apple seems to be operating on a more urgent timeline, possibly in order to ensure that some apps are finalized for an upcoming marketing initiative or media event. In the meantime, Apple has reportedly been holding workshops to train retail employees about the Apple Watch in Los Angeles, Cupertino, Austin and Atlanta.Apple CEO Tim Cook confirmed the Apple Watch will launch in April.
